Allied Universal Posts 25 Metro Atlanta Security Jobs at $16 to $21 an Hour, With Very Different Schedules

Wages

Allied Universal, the security services company, posted 25 security jobs around metro Atlanta on Thursday, Nov. 5, with listed pay running from $16 to $21 an hour. The postings also show that the company hires security officers under at least three different scheduling arrangements, and those arrangements matter as much as the hourly rate.

The figures come from Allied Universal’s careers site, jobs.aus.com, searched within 50 miles of Atlanta and sorted by date at about 17:35 UTC (12:35 p.m. ET) on Friday, Nov. 6. The search returned 345 open postings in all. The 25 newest were dated Nov. 5; none was dated Nov. 6. Fourteen are full time and 11 part time. Each is an opening at an unnamed client site, not a hire.

Most of the Nov. 5 postings are in Atlanta, with others in Duluth, Lawrenceville, Kennesaw, East Point, Palmetto, Peachtree City, Covington and Moreland. Of the 24 that list a rate, the lowest is $16 an hour, for part-time roving patrol in Covington. The highest, $21 an hour, appears on four full-time postings in Atlanta’s 30318 ZIP code that involve alarm panels, access systems and security systems.

Flex jobs: 30 to 40 hours, shifts that move

A Security Officer Flex Front Desk Operations posting in downtown Atlanta (job ID 2026-1742034) pays $17.05 an hour and is listed as full time. The posting says to expect 30 to 40 hours a week, but the schedule “will vary week to week,” mixing shifts a manager assigns with shifts the officer picks up through Allied’s Earn More, Claim-A-Shift app. Days, locations and assignments change regularly, and the posting warns of irregular shifts “with little to no advance notice.” Applicants need reliable transportation, must be available for nights, weekends, holidays and last-minute scheduling, and must be willing to travel varying distances.

A similar flex posting based in Buckhead, Flex Patrol Travel Ready (2026-1742035), pays $20.47 an hour under the same 30-to-40-hour description.

Fixed shifts: the hotel and the screening post

Other postings name a set schedule. An Unarmed Patrol Emergency Support job at a hotel and resort location in the 30313 ZIP code (2026-1742489) pays $19.10 an hour, full time, working 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Officers patrol the property and write incident reports. At least one year of security experience is required.

A part-time screener at a government location downtown (2026-1742436) pays $17.50 an hour for two overnight shifts, Tuesday and Saturday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The screener inspects people and bags and checks identification. It also requires a year of security experience, with X-ray screening experience and a guard card or license preferred.

The top-paying alarm job, Alarm Panel Event Response (2026-1742895), pays $21 an hour for full-time days, 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday. It also requires a year of security experience.

'Enhanced' part time: an anchor shift plus extras

Six of the Nov. 5 postings are what Allied calls Enhanced Part Time. An unarmed patrol driver posting in the 30318 ZIP code (2026-1741914) pays $18 an hour for a fixed Sunday shift from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Allied calls that an “anchor shift” and says the assignment requires a six-month commitment. Officers can add shifts through the same app and build up to 40 hours a week, or scale back. The job patrols retail common areas and parking lots by foot or vehicle and requires a year of security experience and a valid driver’s license.

What all the postings require

Across the postings, unarmed officers must be at least 18 and armed officers at least 21, with a high school diploma or equivalent. Hires face a background investigation and, where the law allows, a drug screen. The postings say state or local licensing may be required before employment. The flex front desk and enhanced patrol driver postings list medical, dental and vision coverage and retirement plans, and say seven holidays a year are paid at time and a half if worked.

Allied also posted four Savannah jobs on Nov. 5, three of them security officer roles. Two pay $20.17 an hour, including a full-time unarmed patrol job at a manufacturing site working 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays (2026-1742808). The third, a full-time post at a liquefied natural gas and petrochemical site (2026-1742054), pays $18 an hour and requires a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential, or TWIC, plus six months of security experience.

Applications go through each posting on jobs.aus.com.
