Skills & Careers
Chattahoochee Technical College posted three part-time aviation teaching jobs on Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6, offering $40 to $50 an hour to mechanics and technicians who can teach in its aviation programs at the Paulding County Airport. The postings, on the State of Georgia’s Team Georgia Careers job board, are among seven the college added from Tuesday, Nov. 3, through Friday, according to a check of the board at about 17:54 UTC on Nov. 6.
For working aircraft technicians, the postings spell out a path into teaching that does not require a degree. They are adjunct roles, appointed one academic term at a time, and the college says there is no expectation that the job will continue past that term.
Three aviation postings, three different entry requirements
The Aviation Maintenance Adjunct Instructor job (requisition JR0000007719, posted Nov. 5) pays $50.00 an hour. It covers instruction across the General, Airframe and Powerplant curriculum, and the posting says the work is on the college’s new Aviation Academy campus at the Paulding County Airport and may include hours that line up with night classes. The minimum requirement is an FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings; experience as an aviation maintenance technician and an associate degree or higher in aviation maintenance are preferred.
The Aviation Avionics Adjunct Instructor job (JR0000007728, posted Nov. 6) also pays $50.00 an hour, with a maximum of 22 hours a week and no state benefits. It teaches the Avionics Bench Technician program. Applicants need either an aircraft electronics or avionics certificate or five or more years working in avionics or aircraft electronics. An associate degree in avionics, an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate and an FCC license are listed as preferred. The posting says the job will be temporarily located on another Chattahoochee Tech campus until the facility is complete, and that the opening stays up until filled.
The Aviation Structures Adjunct Instructor job (JR0000007713, posted Nov. 5) pays $40.00 an hour to help a full-time instructor deliver the aviation structures and composites program. Applicants qualify with an aircraft structural technology diploma, five or more years working on aircraft structures in a manufacturing or maintenance, repair and overhaul shop, or an airframe license.
All three postings list a Dallas, Ga., location and ask for an online application with a cover letter, resume and transcript if applicable. The college runs a criminal background check, a motor vehicle records review and reference checks before hiring.
Other postings this week
The college also posted an HVAC Adjunct Instructor or Contractor job (JR0000007567) on Nov. 3. It is paid per course, per semester, and can be assigned to the Marietta or Canton campuses, the Bartow County College and Career Academy, or an industry partner’s site, teaching customized HVAC training under the associate dean of economic development. The minimum is a high school diploma or GED plus five years of industry experience or relevant training.
A full-time Disability Services Technician (JR0000007732, posted Nov. 5) pays $39,110 a year with state benefits. The technician handles student intake paperwork, schedules testing accommodations, proctors exams and is the main contact for health science students at the Woodstock, Canton and Appalachian campuses. It requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of work-related experience. The posting says the job may telework up to three days of a 40-hour week, applications are open until filled, and the anticipated start is December 2026.
At the top of the pay scale, the college posted a Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services and Chief Business Officer job (JR0000007653) on Nov. 4 with a salary range of $121,607.98 to $172,411.67 a year. A history adjunct posting for the Bartow County College and Career Academy in Cartersville (JR0000007646, Nov. 4) pays $2,300 per course.
These are openings, not hires, and the adjunct jobs carry no promise of ongoing work. The avionics and disability services postings say they are open until filled rather than giving a fixed closing date, so applicants should check each posting before applying.
