Kroger’s Georgia Job Board Shows 586 Openings, With Refrigeration Technician Postings Across Metro Atlanta Added Nov. 4

Employers

Kroger’s own careers site listed 586 open job postings in Georgia on Friday, Nov. 6, 156 of them dated Monday, Nov. 2, through Friday. Most of the new listings are store clerk jobs, but the batch also includes eight commercial refrigeration and HVAC technician postings added Wednesday, Nov. 4, at locations from Alpharetta and Duluth to Stockbridge, Newnan and Macon.

The figures come from Kroger’s Oracle-based careers portal, filtered to Georgia and checked at 17:41 UTC (12:41 p.m. ET) Friday. They fall well short of a figure of more than 1,300 metro Atlanta Kroger openings that has circulated in a regional workforce bulletin; that number could not be confirmed on the company’s own job board. Postings are recruiting activity, not hires, and a single posting can cover more than one opening or none at a given moment.

What was posted this week

Of the 156 Georgia postings dated Nov. 2 to Nov. 6, the most common titles were bakery/deli clerk (24), courtesy clerk/grocery bagger (22), cashier (20), online grocery pick-up clerk (14), and meat, grocery and night grocery clerks (10 each). There were also seven Starbucks barista postings, seven fuel-center clerk postings, six pharmacy technician postings, a modified full-time pharmacist job in Atlanta and a spring 2027 construction project engineer internship based in Atlanta. The postings spread across the metro area, including Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, Lawrenceville, Canton and Woodstock, and statewide to Athens, Augusta, Macon, Savannah and Warner Robins.

None of the postings opened for this story lists a wage. Several carry Kroger’s standard benefits text, which mentions up to $21,000 in tuition reimbursement over an employee’s career.

The refrigeration technician jobs

The skilled-trades postings are the most specialized in the batch. Seven are titled Commercial Refrigeration, for Conyers, Douglasville, Duluth, Macon, Newnan, Stockbridge and Woodstock, and one, tied to Kroger’s Atlanta division office on Royal Drive in Alpharetta, is titled Commercial Refrigeration HVAC. All eight are dated Nov. 4 on the portal.

The two postings opened for this story, Stockbridge and Alpharetta, were posted shortly before 1 p.m. ET that day, carry a portal end date of Dec. 31 and share the same full-time description. Technicians drive to stores each day to handle service calls, preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration, HVAC and other store equipment, including compressor, large-motor and component replacement, and they navigate electronic control systems. The minimum requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, three to five years of proven refrigeration or HVAC experience, EPA Type 2 certification, a valid driver’s license, basic Microsoft Office skills and the ability to use controls manufacturers’ software. The jobs require a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime, plus lifting up to 70 pounds and work on ladders and aerial lifts.

A related job, FC Fleet Refrigeration Mechanic at a Kroger facility at 2000 Anvil Block Road in Forest Park, was posted Nov. 2 with a portal end date of Nov. 30. That mechanic repairs delivery vans and their refrigeration units and needs EPA 609 and 608 Type II certifications, three years of transport refrigeration experience and their own hand tools.

Pharmacy roles

The Atlanta pharmacist posting, dated Nov. 2 for the store at 725 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE, requires a pharmacy degree and a current state pharmacist license in good standing and carries a portal end date of Jan. 31, 2027. A part-time pharmacy technician posting at the Stockbridge store at 3618 Highway 138 SE, dated Nov. 4 with an end date of Dec. 3, asks for a high school diploma or GED, a minimum age of 18 and the ability to meet state requirements for the role.

Applications are filed through the Kroger Family of Companies careers site. Listings can change or close at any time, and the counts above reflect a single snapshot of the portal.
