NCR Voyix Posts $17-to-$19-an-Hour Atlanta Field Technician Job With Paid Training, Plus Onsite Cloud Engineering Roles

Skills & Careers

NCR Voyix, the Atlanta-headquartered retail and restaurant technology company, posted an entry-level Field Service Technician I job for the Atlanta area on Monday, Nov. 2, with an hourly pay range of $17 to $19, a company vehicle and company-provided training. Related experience is listed as preferred, not required.

Between Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 the company also posted three cloud and software engineering jobs based in Atlanta, none of which lists pay. The postings were live on NCR Voyix’s Workday careers site when checked at about 13:30 UTC on Wednesday, Nov. 4. Each is a single recruiting listing, not a hire, and the company has not said how many people it intends to add.

Field technician: a starting point with training

The Field Service Technician I posting (R0158315) pitches itself to field technicians, field engineers and service technicians, and to people who “want to start a career in this field” and have mechanical aptitude and transferable skills. Technicians install, maintain and repair electromechanical equipment such as self-checkout systems for retail customers in an assigned territory, and perform preventive maintenance and system overhauls. NCR Voyix says formal training is provided through the company, with virtual and hands-on classroom instruction and teachers, mentors and coaches who work across territories.

Pay is $17 to $19 an hour depending on location and experience, with overtime at time and a half. Listed benefits include seven paid holidays and six paid floating holidays, up to 80 hours of paid vacation in the first year, a 401(k) plan, medical insurance available immediately, and a company vehicle for business use only.

The job is physically demanding and mobile. The posting describes prolonged travel with several hours of driving a day, rotating and weekend shifts with morning, afternoon and evening start times and some holidays, and carrying tools, parts and equipment of up to 75 pounds unassisted and up to 150 pounds with help.

Basic qualifications are being a local candidate, being authorized to work in the U.S., being at least 18, holding a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets NCR fleet requirements, and having PC skills, basic electronics skills and some hardware and operating-system familiarity. A+, CompTIA or N+ certification, a year or more of related experience and familiarity with servers, mainframes and imaging software are preferred but not required. Offers are conditional on passing the job’s screening criteria.

Cloud and software engineering roles

The other three postings are for experienced technologists. A Site Reliability Engineer II posting (R0158645), dated Nov. 3, is marked “Onsite: Atlanta, GA.” It asks for a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus one to three years in site reliability, cloud, DevOps, systems or infrastructure engineering. Applicants need experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud), scripting in a language such as Python, Bash, Go or PowerShell, Linux familiarity, container tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools. The role includes on-call rotations for production systems.

A Dev Ops Engineer posting (R0158768), dated Nov. 2, focuses on deploying and running AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, along with incident resolution, platform administration and CI/CD pipelines. The posting says the team works to service-level agreements “within a 24x7x365 operating model.”

A Senior Software Engineer posting (R0158697), dated Nov. 3, is for building an internal observability and monitoring platform, primarily in Go, on Google Cloud. It requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field and five or more years of professional software development.

How to apply

Applications go through NCR Voyix’s Workday careers site. The company warns applicants to open only hiring emails that come from an @ncrvoyix.com address. Postings can close once roles are filled.
