Hiring
Flock Safety, the public-safety technology company that builds crime-prevention cameras and “Drone as a First Responder” hardware for agencies, added two hands-on warehouse jobs in Atlanta to its own careers board this week: an Aviation Warehouse Operations Coordinator paying $21 to $24 an hour, posted Thursday, Nov. 5, and an Assembly Technician paying $40,000 to $45,000 a year, posted Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The two postings were the only new Georgia listings on the company’s job board, which runs on the Ashby applicant-tracking system, when it was checked at 17:33 UTC (12:33 p.m. ET) on Friday, Nov. 6. The board listed 23 open postings in all, five of them tied to Georgia. Postings are recruiting activity, not hires, and neither listing says how many people Flock plans to bring on.
Building drone dock kits
The aviation coordinator posting went up at 22:22 UTC on Nov. 5 (5:22 p.m. ET) and is marked as on-site, full-time work in Atlanta. It ties the job directly to Flock’s drone business, saying deployments of the company’s aviation hardware “are expanding across communities as more agencies adopt drone technology.”
The coordinator assembles the company’s Dock 3 units and related platform hardware, then kits and packages customer orders of up to 50 individual items, including specialized cables, mounts and accessories, so field technicians can install systems out of the box. The job also covers receiving shipments, staging materials and handing off freight, serializing all incoming aviation hardware, running regular cycle counts and operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
The listing is explicit about what the job is not: it is not a remote or desk role, not a single-function warehouse job and not a software or firmware position. Flock asks for experience in warehouse logistics, high-volume order fulfillment or technology hardware distribution, familiarity with multi-part hardware kits, forklift and pallet-jack experience, and quick responses over Slack and email. The posted range is $21 to $24 an hour plus stock options; the posting says starting pay depends on experience and other factors.
Solar panels for the camera network
The Assembly Technician job, posted at 19:20 UTC on Nov. 4, sits on the company’s Logistics and Distribution team. According to the description, technicians work “in our warehouse in Atlanta GA,” building and repairing the solar panels that power Flock’s crime-prevention devices, and also help with receiving, shipping, packaging and general merchandise handling.
Requirements include at least one year of warehouse or retail experience, proven material-assembly experience, use of hand and power tools, familiarity with pallet jacks and forklifts “with proper certification and training,” basic Word and Google Sheets skills (Salesforce experience is preferred) and the ability to lift 40 pounds. The posted range of $40,000 to $45,000 is base salary only.
One inconsistency applicants should note: the posting’s structured location field labels the Assembly Technician job as remote, while its description places the work in the Atlanta warehouse and lists physical, on-site duties. The aviation coordinator posting, by contrast, is tagged on-site in both places. Flock’s standard posting text says the company prioritizes candidates in Atlanta and Boston and that “when a posting is open to remote work, it says so.” Candidates should confirm the work arrangement with a recruiter.
Older Atlanta listings
Two other Atlanta-tagged Flock postings are still open but are not new this week. A UAS Support Engineer job, posted Aug. 11, pays $100,000 to $140,000 plus stock options, is based on-site at what the posting calls Flock’s “Atlanta-based manufacturing facility,” involves up to 25% travel and requires an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate upon hire. A Field Deployment Specialist job posted Oct. 29, which installs drone docks and related hardware at customer sites, pays $60,000 to $80,000 plus overtime and stock options but requires travel up to 100% of the time and a Part 107 certificate within 45 days of hire.
An “Assembly Technician, Airframes” posting and an earlier version of the Assembly Technician listing that circulated on outside job sites were no longer on Flock’s board at the time of the check, and their posted pay could not be confirmed from the company’s own system.
Listings can change or close at any time. Applications go through the Ashby pages linked from Flock’s careers site, and the company says legitimate hiring messages come only from flocksafety.com or ashbyhq.com email addresses.
