Six Flags Over Georgia Recruits Holiday Elves and Ride Crews Ahead of Nov. 21 Holiday in the Park

Hiring

Six Flags Over Georgia is recruiting seasonal workers for Holiday in the Park, which its event page says runs on select dates from Nov. 21 through Jan. 3 at the Austell park. Five seasonal openings were listed for the park on Six Flags’ careers site at about 13:25 UTC on Wednesday, Nov. 4, including a Holiday Elf role at $10.50 an hour and ride operator jobs at $11.50 and $12.50 an hour.

Two of the five were posted this week: a Rides Lead posting dated Monday, Nov. 2, and a Rides Team Member posting dated Wednesday, Nov. 4. The Holiday Elf posting is dated Oct. 29. Each posting is a recruiting listing, not a count of hires, and Six Flags did not state how many people it plans to bring on for the holiday event.

Holiday Elf: $10.50 an hour, every operating day

The Holiday Elf job (req. ID 34574) is described as “highly interactive and performance-based.” Elves help run non-prize games and activities, hand out crafts, candy and event materials, help manage guest flow and crowd control, and keep guest areas clean and safe. The pay rate is $10.50 an hour.

The availability requirement is strict. Applicants “must be able to work all operating days from November 21, 2026, through January 3, 2027,” and because of the short season they must disclose any scheduling conflicts between November and January during the interview. Shifts can include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Elves must be at least 16. The posting says they must be able to stand or walk for up to six hours at a time in heat, cold and rain, carry 10 to 30 pounds of costumes or props, work around strobe lights, fog and theatrical smoke, be willing to play multiple characters, and be able to wear a latex or silicone mask or special-effects makeup for long periods.

Ride operators: $11.50 and $12.50

The Rides Team Member posting (req. ID 30755) pays $11.50 an hour, and the Rides Lead posting (req. ID 31829) pays $12.50. Both describe loading and unloading guests, checking that seatbelts and lap bars are locked, enforcing rider height restrictions, operating ride controls and acting as a first responder to ride emergencies. Applicants must be at least 16, must pass ride certification tests “with 100% accuracy,” and must be available for shifts that vary from 10 a.m. to midnight, including weekends and holidays. The ride postings advertise daily pay, free tickets for family and friends and scholarship opportunities.

The ride listings follow what the company has called a tragic incident at the park in October. In an Oct. 23 update posted on the park’s website, Six Flags CEO John Reilly said Goliath “remains closed pending necessary safety reviews and clearances,” that the company is adding seat belts on Goliath and other coasters with a similar restraint, and that independent engineers and ride-inspection specialists have been engaged to review safety procedures across its parks. He said ride operators complete “a comprehensive, multi-stage training program” that includes classroom instruction, hands-on training and supervised on-the-job experience.

Other seasonal openings

The park’s two other open seasonal listings are older. An EMT/Paramedic posting (req. ID 32991), dated Oct. 26, pays $19.50 an hour for EMTs and $21.50 for paramedics. It requires applicants to be at least 18, hold a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent, be licensed by the Georgia State Office of EMS/Trauma and maintain National Registry certification, and be able to lift more than 75 pounds of equipment. A Workforce Coordinator posting (req. ID 32642), dated Oct. 2, pays $13.50 an hour for scheduling work in the park’s UKG Pro system and asks for strong Excel skills, with PivotTable experience preferred.

Holiday in the Park admission is included with a park ticket, which the event page lists from $35 plus a processing fee and taxes. Applications are taken through the “Apply Now” links on each posting at jobs.sixflags.com. Listings can close once positions are filled.
