Hiring
Emory Decatur Hospital will hold an in-person hiring event for experienced registered nurses on Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the hospital’s Keaton Auditorium at 2701 N. Decatur Road in Decatur, according to an Emory Healthcare recruiting page checked at about 15:00 UTC on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Walk-ins are welcome, and recruiters and nurse leaders from the hospital are scheduled to attend.
The event is a recruiting session, not a promise of a set number of jobs. Emory’s page does not say how many positions are open, and it does not list pay rates or a sign-on bonus.
Which units are recruiting
The page groups the openings under acute care and medical-surgical nursing. It lists five specialties: medical-surgical, medical-surgical unit charge nurse, orthopedic acute care, medical telemetry and step-down. The invitation text describes “immediate opportunities for experienced nurses across all specialties,” but the specialty list itself is limited to those five areas.
The recruiting push comes as the hospital prepares to open a new 30-bed medical-surgical unit, which the page says is “opening soon.” Emory invites nurses to join that unit from its first day. The page gives no opening date for the unit.
Who qualifies
The event is aimed at nurses with acute care experience. The RSVP form offers two qualifying profiles: a bachelor of science in nursing with at least one year of acute care experience, or an associate degree in nursing with at least two years of acute care experience. The form also asks in which state the applicant holds an RN license and which specialty best describes the applicant’s background.
Emory says it is looking for nurses with “a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and the drive to thrive” in what it calls a close-knit hospital. Applicants are asked to bring four copies of their resume. Scrubs or business casual dress are both acceptable. Visitors should park in the visitor deck and follow signs to the main hospital.
Nurses can let recruiters know they plan to attend through an RSVP form on the event page. The form also lets nurses who cannot make the Nov. 6 date say they are still interested in Emory Healthcare jobs. Checking a box on the form signs the applicant up for text-message reminders.
Benefits listed
The page lists free covered parking, a paid time off program, educational tuition assistance, and medical coverage including health, dental, pharmacy and vision. It says flexible benefits start on day one.
About the hospital
Emory describes Emory Decatur as a 451-bed hospital with more than 2,500 staff members that treats patients with stroke, oncology, maternity, orthopedic and behavioral health needs. The hospital earned Magnet designation for nursing for the first time in 2025, according to the page.
Its emergency department treats nearly 70,000 patients a year, which the page calls the fourth-busiest in the Atlanta area. The page says the department cut its average time for a patient to see a provider from 98 minutes to nine minutes after adding a provider-nurse team at entry, and that the department received the Emergency Nurses Association’s 2025 Lantern Award.
Other Emory events
Emory Healthcare’s main hiring-events page lists the Decatur nursing event and one other upcoming session: a virtual webinar on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. ET for its spring 2027 administrative internship program. No other Emory nursing hiring events were listed for November at the time of the check.
Nurses weighing the event should confirm pay, shift and unit details directly with recruiters, since the event page does not publish them.
