Atlanta & Local Affairs
Two Atlanta university career events are scheduled over the next two days, creating near-term recruiting opportunities for students and employers in the metro area.
Georgia Tech’s College of Sciences Students-Careers-Employers Networking Event, known as ScENE, is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Georgia Tech Exhibition Hall.
Georgia State University’s Fall 2026 Career and Internship Fair is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 55 Gilmer Street SE in downtown Atlanta.
Two different recruiting windows
The Georgia Tech event is focused on connections among College of Sciences students, careers and employers. Georgia State’s event is listed as a broader career and internship fair.
Team Georgia Careers lists both events on its October calendar. The state listing does not provide a complete employer roster or a count of open positions, so the number of jobs available cannot be determined from the listing.
What job seekers should watch
For students and early-career candidates, these events provide direct employer access at a time when national hiring has slowed. The value will depend on which employers attend, the roles they are recruiting for and whether those conversations translate into interviews or offers.
What to watch: employer participation, internship availability and any follow-up hiring activity after the events.
