ISM’s Manufacturing Employment Index rose to 52.7 in September from 51.2. Eight of 18 industries reported employment growth, up from seven in August, but the number reporting declines doubled to six.
ISM’s Services Employment Index rose to 50.1 in September from 47.8, its first reading in expansion after two months of contraction. Seven services industries reported employment growth and eight reported declines.
