Hiring
The Military Officers Association of America will hold a free virtual career fair on Friday, Oct. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time, with recruiters from seven employers scheduled to take part. The event is open to all servicemembers, veterans and military spouses, according to the registration page, not only MOAA members.
MOAA’s event page lists seven participating employers: ClearanceJobs, billed as the featured employer, CACI International, Cisco Systems, Dalferes Enterprises, Fusion 2, MANTECH and Synchrony. The page does not say how many positions the companies are trying to fill, which roles are open, or where the jobs are located, so attendees should not assume that every employer is hiring for every skill set or region.
How the event works
The fair runs on the Brazen virtual event platform. Job seekers create an account, complete a registration form, review information about the participating organizations ahead of time, and then log in during the 90-minute window to join one-on-one chats with company representatives from a laptop, tablet, desktop or phone.
The two event pages describe the format slightly differently. The registration page describes “one-on-one text-based chats” with representatives. MOAA’s own event page says its platform supports audio and video and advises attendees to be camera-ready because “the employer may want to interview you on the spot.” Job seekers should prepare for either format. An on-the-spot conversation is at the recruiter’s discretion; registration does not guarantee an interview, a follow-up or a job offer.
MOAA pitches the event to people leaving uniformed service, military spouses whose careers move with each relocation, and anyone facing what it calls a “foreseen or unforeseen career pivot.” The association says the format lets job seekers market their education, experience and skills directly to talent acquisition staff and recruiters.
Cost and sponsorship
Registration is free. The event is funded through MOAA Charities, a 501(c)(3), and the registration page asks participants to consider a suggested $25 donation to help sustain future events; the contribution is voluntary. MOAA’s event page also credits a donation from Delta Dental to The MOAA Foundation with making this and other events available to servicemembers, veterans, military spouses, surviving spouses and their families.
Preparing before Friday
MOAA recommends that attendees search openings from the participating employers on the MOAA Job Board before the event and review its Transition and Career Center for advice on virtual interviews. The center’s listed services include the job board, an updated 2026 transition guide, career consulting, resume critiques and a webinar archive. Some of the association’s career materials are reserved for its Premium and Life members, the center’s page says, though the career fair itself is free and open to the broader military community.
For job seekers, the practical value of a short virtual fair is direct access to recruiters who have committed time to military and veteran candidates. The event page does not describe security-clearance requirements or specific roles for any of the participating companies, so candidates should read each employer’s current postings rather than assume what a recruiter is looking for.
With only 90 minutes and a short employer list, attendees will likely get the most out of the session by identifying target companies and specific openings beforehand, having a current resume ready to share, and following up through each company’s official application process after the chat. The event pages list times in Eastern Daylight Time; attendees in other time zones should convert the 11:30 a.m. start accordingly.
