New RV Maker Boundless Recreation Plans Up to 115 Jobs in Bristol, Indiana

Hiring

Boundless Recreation, a recreational vehicle manufacturer founded in 2025, has started production in Bristol, Indiana, and plans to create up to 115 new jobs by the end of 2028, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The company has already hired 45 employees, according to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, and “will continue to hire for various positions throughout the company.” The state said the new positions are expected to pay average salaries of 125% of the Elkhart County average. Neither the state nor the company published a dollar wage figure or a list of job titles.

The 115 figure is a plan through 2028, not a current headcount. The release does not say whether the 45 people already on staff count toward that total.

The plant and the product

Boundless Recreation is investing $2 million to start and scale its operations in a 104,000-square-foot facility at 705 Maple St. in Bristol, in Elkhart County, and is outfitting the building with manufacturing equipment, according to the state. The company launched initial production in October. It builds fifth-wheel trailers, the towable RVs that hitch into the bed of a pickup truck, and said it soon plans to add travel trailers.

The company was founded by a group of RV industry veterans. When it announced its launch in July 2026, as reported by trade publication RV PRO, Boundless said its leadership spans engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, customer service, finance and operations, and that every member of its executive leadership team is also an owner. It said then that its initial lineup would focus on premium fifth wheels and that it was intentionally not pursuing rapid growth or market share, emphasizing craftsmanship and long-term customer satisfaction instead.

Founder and president Nate Nickell said in the state’s release that the company was started “because we believe the RV industry needs a different approach,” centered on quality components, craftsmanship and accountability to the customer. He said the company is grateful for the state’s support “as we grow our team in Bristol.” The release does not identify any specific state tax credit, grant or other incentive tied to the project.

Where the jobs fit

The announcement adds an employer to the most concentrated RV manufacturing cluster in North America. According to the state, the South Bend-Elkhart region produces approximately 80% to 88% of all RVs built in the United States and Canada. Braun called Indiana “the RV Capital of the World.”

That concentration means local RV workers have options, but it also ties the region’s factory employment closely to demand for discretionary, big-ticket purchases. A small manufacturer focused on premium fifth wheels is a niche bet within that market, and its hiring pace through 2028 will depend on how well its products sell. The company’s own statements stress measured growth rather than volume.

The state framed the project as part of a push on entrepreneurship. Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich said the state’s “entrepreneurial and small business ecosystem is driving the state forward.” The IEDC said small businesses make up 99.4% of Indiana businesses and employ 1.2 million Hoosiers, and that Indiana ranks 12th in the nation for its rate of new entrepreneurs.

For job seekers

The release does not describe specific openings beyond saying the company will hire for “various positions throughout the company,” and it gives no split between production and office roles. Boundless has said it is building a customer program called Boundless Care, a dedicated team handling warranty support, technical assistance, parts coordination and service communication for owners and dealers through a single point of contact, so its staffing will include service functions as well as the factory floor.

The announcement came as Braun was scheduled to speak at an IBJ Media Innovate Indiana event in northern Indiana focused on the South Bend-Elkhart region. People interested in the openings should contact the company directly, since the state did not publish an application channel or a hiring timeline beyond the 2028 target.
