Who’s Hiring
The Latin American Association has announced an in-person job fair for Thursday, October 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Atlanta Outreach Center, 2750 Buford Highway NE. The organization’s page says employers from multiple industries will participate with entry- to medium-level positions across basic, technical and professional categories, and asks attendees to bring an updated résumé. Attendees must be authorized to work in the United States; the association says all English proficiency levels are welcome. Job seekers sign up through a registration form linked from the event page.
Employers listed so far
The page currently lists ATL GA Staffing, recruiting for housekeeping, kitchen and laundry roles; The Cleaning Authority, recruiting house cleaners; the Fox Theatre, recruiting event staff, housekeeping and security; and The Home Depot. A final roster, vacancy counts and any on-the-spot offer policy should be verified closer to the date. The association held its 42nd annual Career Expo at the same address in June.
What to ask at the table
The fair is relevant to workers who want a direct conversation with recruiters rather than a purely digital application. Candidates can ask whether a listed role is open now, whether a background check or particular credential is required, what shift arrangements look like and which stage of the hiring process happens at the event. They should not assume that a brief conversation replaces a later online application or employer screening.
Location and scheduling are practical parts of the hiring story. The event is on Buford Highway in northeast Atlanta, not a generalized statewide fair, and anyone comparing opportunities should consider how a worksite’s location and shift hours fit with their commute. For roles with variable schedules, a wage rate alone may not capture whether a job is workable. The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ newly released work-schedule survey found that 59% of wage and salary workers knew their schedule four weeks or more in advance, while 9% learned it one day or less ahead.
For participating employers, the chance to explain job conditions in person is especially useful when online descriptions are ambiguous. Recruiters can clarify whether advertised earnings are hourly base pay or include variable components, whether training is paid, and when a successful candidate could start. None of those details should be inferred simply because an employer attends a fair.
Anyone planning to attend should check the Latin American Association’s event page shortly beforehand for registration, parking, updated employers and any time changes. The story is a verified local recruiting opportunity, not a claim that any participating employer is filling a particular number of openings.
